Ingredients
- 200g Brown Rice
- 2tbsp Veg Oil
- 200g Tofu
- 50g Frozen Peas
- 1 Pepper
- 1 Potato
- 1 Onion
- 3 Cloves Garlic
- 30ml Soy Sauce
- 2tbsp Sesame Seed Oil
- 3tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1tsp Chinese Five Spice
- 1tsp Garlic Salt
- 1tsp Oregano
- 2tbsp Vinegar
- 🧂Salt & Pepper
Method
- Cook your rice according to the instructions on the package – typically for 10-20 minutes in simmering water.
- Heat a wok or large frying pan on high heat with the veg oil – careful not to overheat (you’ll spot it smoking if this happens.)
- Finely chop the onion and garlic and add this to the pan, cooking until they begin to brown.
- Cut the pepper and potato into tiny cubes and add these to the pan, cooking for a further 5 minutes. If the pan starts to dry out, add small amounts of water and stir well.
- Chop your tofu into small pieces and add to the pan, along with the soy sauce, sesame seed oil, vinegar, brown sugar, and herbs and spices. Stir well and cook for 3 minutes.
- When your rice is cooked, drain and add this to the pan along with the peas. Season to taste and still well.
