People who play politics don’t deserve ire, they deserve consignment to irrelevance. This is something I’ve realised holds true the deeper into work I’ve gone. The easy option is to complain, the harder one is to construct a new reality – to be constructive. It genuinely takes much more energy, creativity, and passion.
We should strive to bring people along for the journey, to assume good intent, and to give every opportunity to collaborate and work effectively together. But sometimes, some folks are more interested in building or defending imaginary structures of influence or imprisonment.
Whatever helps you muddle through the world.
If your goal is to work on interesting problems and develop great solutions, you shouldn’t waste any energy on ire. Just consign detractors to irrelevance and accept that the shifting sands will swallow them up in time.
