My blog was in dire need of a re-design, so in early 2011 I set about creating a WordPress theme that was purely focussed on the content and nothing else. I therefore decided to remove certain aspects of the blog – such as a blogroll, and links to different categories. Having done that, analytical information now shows improved user interaction and a greater time spent on the site.
Being a fan of WordPress, I implemented a number of plugins and techniques to ensure the site runs as quickly as possible, and with load times averaging under a second on content-rich pages, I’m pretty happy.
