For a number of years the parish had struggled to inform it’s parishioners of goings on in the parish, the only method of communication was via the weekly newsletter at mass; and as attendance couldn’t always be guaranteed, it was difficult to ensure everyone was kept in the loop. At the same time visitors to Cheadle Hulme had to rely on often inaccurate mass-time information on third-party websites. The answer was obvious: they needed a website.
Because the site was to be used and updated by a wide variety of people it was important to design an experience that clearly focussed on the content, and allowed powerful editing features. It became clear that I wouldn’t be able to develop simply a theme for another framework, but instead I would have to tailor a content management system from scratch.
Now whenever members of the parish want to find out the latest news, or when tourists wish to find out mass times, they can visit the site and quickly find what they’re after.
